Dog Training Classes

Helen offers training for all levels of dogs, from puppies through to advanced, incorporating the Good Citizens Dog Scheme. Scheduled classes are held in and around Smarden, Kent. Why not book your dog in for some group training, great for a more social approach to dog training.

Helen runs small group classes in line with the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme every six weeks. These are grouped from Puppy to Bronze, Silver and Gold. During the winter months these are held in local village halls such as Pluckley. Over the summer, classes are often held on Helen’s Farm, in the sand school or paddock.

When?

Classes are held in the daytime and evenings and are split in to different levels:

Novice & Advanced depends on subscribers.

Courses run over 6 weeks.

Please contact us for more information regarding the start dates for the next block.

What does a class involve?

The six week courses include 1:1 time with Helen and group work. There are day time and evening classes to suit everyone. Small group classes allow the dogs to stay focused whilst still providing socialization.

Classes are based on positive rewards based methods and corrections, with no abusive behaviour towards dogs, including smacking. Any owners who use this behaviour toward their dog will not be allowed to attend. The classes are a happy and rewarding environment for dogs and owners to enjoy.

Reactive dog day training

Brand new starting Monday 19th August!

Masterclass School For Reactive Dogs! Leave your dog with me for a half or full day between 10am and 4pm with full de-brief at collection. These days are staged so that your dogs can just be left for care whilst you are at work or to give you respite. I am not talking about dogs that are well behaved and fit into societies expectations of perfect behaviour, I am talking about the dogs that normal day care providers won’t accept, the fear reactive, the over stimulated with no impulse control, shy dogs, entire dogs too young to be neutered and those dogs that are high maintenance and generally need someone with vast experience and knowledge to give structure to their day. That person being me along with my assistants. We have the facilities on site to cater for all needs and to be able to have segregation where needed. My aim is to be able to have any dogs of any size, personality, or behavioural issue, with the exception of highly dog aggressive dogs. This would not be suitable for them and would only make them more dog aggressive. The aim is to give them the help that they need in a structured way and start the process of getting them better in their behaviours around people and other dogs. THIS IS NOT DOGGY DAY CARE think of it more as a respite for you to be able to go out for the day knowing that your dog is being looked after and trained at the same time. School For Dogs!

The price starts from as little as £55 for a full day and £30 half day with the option of adding extra training/behavioural sessions in the day. The days will be Monday Tues Weds 10am till 4pm and places will be limited. Please contact us or fill out the form below to sign up.
