Helen offers bespoke training packages for those wishing to embark on a career in dog training or the wider canine industry. These courses are designed by Helen based on the many qualifications she holds, her years of experience and her best practices.

From time to time Helen Masters runs one off dog training workshops, such as Reactive Dog Workshops, Recall Workshops, children’s summer training camps, or Summer Special Training days.

Helen Masters Academy – Stage 1 Behaviour. This course is for anyone wanting to become a dog trainer or behaviourist. Alternatively, if you are a passionate dog owner and want to improve your knowledge, this course is for you. You might also be interested in the Introduction to problem behaviour course. WORKSHOP & COURSE DATES:

Date TBC – Small Group Socialisation. Off lead socialising for socially selective dogs. Groups of 3 which I will place with one of my mentor dogs.

Times from 10:30 – I will give you a time when I know what personalities we have.

4 week neutrality course. Learn to teach your dog neutrality in this small group course. Groups are split between fear reactive dogs and excitable reactive dogs at either 10am or 11:30 am respectively.
We start in my paddock and then build up to taking your dogs out in public around the village.

Neutrality Course:

Four week course starting 14th March.

10:00am – for dogs with lack of impulse, and / or are overly friendly with dogs and people

11:30am – for nervous, reactive, fearful or aggressive dogs.

This 4 week course will teach you why your dog needs to seek neutrality and why they are displaying this impulsive, reactive behaviors. You will learn the tools to teach them neutrality and practice them with me. Starting in my sand school and paddock, working up to real life environments around my local village.

If your dog displays any of the above behaviours, you need this course!

Evening classes. Everything from puppy socialisation to Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze, Silver and Gold. Six week, small group course.

Recall Workshop

Sunday 19th April. 10:30 Start. Popular recall workshop for all types of dog.

This course will cover: Toilet training, Dogs eating their own poo, Play biting, Jumping up, Barking and Digging.

There are 14 questions and 1 case study to complete.

I am offering this course for just £350. This is for people wishing to increase their knowledge on dog behaviour, dog business owners and people who wish to become a behaviourist and trainer. It’s also accredited for CPD points.

This course is a basic fundamental to canine behaviour. Every prospective dog trainer needs to have a profound knowledge of canine behaviour. This course is a mixture of distant learning and face to face practical assessment.

Helen will provide you with a course pack. In this pack you have a set of written assignments to complete. There is no time limit to complete these assignments, this is a self paced study to fit around your other commitments. Once you have submitted and passed the written assignments, you will arrange with Helen to complete the practical assessments. These will be done at a location to suit both parties with dogs of Helen’s choice.

Option for dog owners, not those in the industry, complete the theory and no need for practical assessment. The theory test is also multiple choice.

Course cost: £500 for industry professionals and £350 for dog owners.
